Little Homemaker

While Tyrel is out of town picking up the newest member of our family (his snowmobile, aka his second wife! HA!) I decided to try something new. I made Abby a dress and keep in mind I have never made any clothes before. I have made quilts but I think it is way different. Anyway, I made Abby's cute little dress that she is wearing and if I do say so myself, it turned out pretty good. (just don't look at it too close!) I spent all day Saturday making a table runner for Quilt Guild and making Abby's dress and about 10:15 Saturday night I finished the dress so she could wear it to church. I had her try it on right after I made it and she was so excited to wear it that she told me to put on my dress so we could go to church. Needless to say, Abby loved it but I think I could have stapled two pieces of fabric together and she probably would have liked it just as much. =)
You might also notice Jaiden in the background with an enormous bow on her head. I have never really been a big fan of the huge bows on babies but I am very sick of people calling her a boy. I went to a wedding reception and she had a little pink bow glued to her head but someone still thought she was a boy! So I have finally had enough and bought her a big bow that nobody would miss and hopefully nobody will mistake her for a boy again!!!!

  1. what's Quilt Guild? I'm in a quilting class right now. Of course, it's a beginnier's class (I hadn't used a sewing machine since jr. high, and even then i made kelsey sew for me! haha!).
anyway, the dress looks SUPER cute!!! good job. which is easier...quilting or sewing clothes?
(and i can relate to the "boy" thing, too. even when andra was in a pink dress! some people don't think before they open their mouths.)
    anyway, way to go!!!
